Major clients/projects: HEPACO has provided emergency response services to disasters that received national attention. The company handled the 2005 clean-up of Graniteville, South Carolina, following a train disaster in which chlorine was released into the environment and the town was evacuated. HEPACO also oversaw clean-up following the 2005 explosion of a hazardous materials storage facility in El Dorado, Arkansas. HEPACO works with many well-known corporations in the transportation, communication, manufacturing, commercial and institutional industries. HEPACO has completed more than 14,000 projects.

CSX Honors HEPACO with Performance Quality Award

CSX Transportation chose HEPACO for the most coveted award in our industry, the Performance Quality Award. We received the award in spring 2004 from CSX Transportation’s Hazardous Material Systems Incident Ready Team at the organization’s annual conference. “In our industry, this is like winning the Super Bowl,” says HEPACO president and CEO Ron Horton Sr.

Along with recognizing HEPACO as a whole, CSX Transportation has also presented awards to three HEPACO employees. Our Atlanta emergency response manager, our Charlotte emergency response manager, and our East Tennessee manager have all received Field Service Awards for exemplary performance.
